ABOUT TAJA PRODUCTIONS

TAJA (Theatre at Jane Addams) Productions is an after-school club at Jane Addams Middle School that puts on a play in the Fall and a Musical in the Spring. Our mission is to expose middle school students to the world of theatre through our no-cuts program that allows anyone in our school community to be involved on-stage or backstage. TAJA was originally founded by a group of parent volunteers who wanted an active theatre program for the students of JAMS. At that time JAMS did not have a theatre teacher, and everything had to be contracted out. Shortly after the formation of the program Irene Handley was hired and took the reins. Over the last five years, she has grown the program to what you see today. We are the largest after-school club at JAMS with 80+ students per show.
